Fall and Winter 2012

The Fall slowed down somewhat. And then that changed.

Grapefest is a wonderful event in the fall. It features homemade wines from Texas. The kids were not into it.
Batman

We found a really big tractor. On our way out.

Continuing on our year of us Tony and I bought OU season tickets. It was amazing. It was hard to get it all organized but thanks to our wonderful family we got some us time and we were able to cheer on our Sooners.

Halloween 2012.
Preston chose his own costume. He wanted to be a Fireman. I asked why and he said "because Firemen are helpers and we all love them". I applaud my little man.

Greyson was different. He didn't care at all. So I got to choose one more time. Probably the last costume I will ever get to choose. And so....

Charlie Brown.
Made by Mommy. With lots of love and a few tears.

Love my boys

Winter brought change. Lots of Change. We are still settling in to all this change.

First he turned 5.

Preston Thomas Moore, age 5.

We had a great party at Bounce U and he loved it. His friends came and showered him with attention. His favorite thing.

The Avengers. He chose Avengers. He does not like sweets, especially chocolate. He asked me to please get a 1/2 vanilla 1/2 chocolate cake because he knew his friends would want chocolate. So sweet.

But disaster struck that evening. My poor 5 year old got a fever and spent his birthday the next day at the doctor's office and in bed.

My heart broke for him.

He told me it would be okay. He is 5. He will take care of Mommy.

So in true Moore fashion, we piled it all on. Not only did we have a birthday party, we bought a home and sold a home.

Our new home

We love it. It was not something we planned but we followed our gut and it just all happened. We typically do things that way.

Then Christmas. Christmas is an amazing time. A lonely time for me so I do my best to keep busy. I take the kids to see Santa, Preston got to ice skate for the first time, we also went to Main Street in our new town and enjoyed the lights. It was a fun time and a great way to end this year.

2012 may have been a year that we said we would be selfish and focus on us. And we did. But we also were selfish with our family and friends. We loved everyone in our lives a little harder and with any luck 2013 will be the same.

Summer 2012

Summer was a busy time. Tony and I were the most selfish we have ever been this summer. We did things that made US happy. We went to Costa Rica. It was us and our friends and the 4 of us had a blast. 6 days of adult time. 6 days of water. 6 days of drinking....ouch. 6 days of us. Amazing.
Tony zip lining and me with a Monkey. And this monkey I did not give birth to.

We went to the lake whenever possible. My boys are lake boys. They love water, they love boats (actually this is new this summer), they love the seadoos, they love the Polaris...or Pomaris, they love the bunk beds....Well they are alone there. My husband loves to relax and talk with my Dad. They have grown very close this year. As opposite as they are, I think they are just as similar. And I am the same with my Robin. I adore her. It is not for lack of anything that I have realized this. She has so many neat qualities that I admire. And I love to speak to Allie. She is in such a fun place. Freshmen year in college. Wow. I love that she is at a time when I can be a real asset to her when she needs me. Eufala is a place that we love. And this summer I feel like we used it up. Thank God for that opportunity.

The Men

We also had a birthday. A Second Birthday.

Yes he turned 2. Greyson is a big boy. This birthday brought a change in my sweet calm little G. I thought Preston was tough in the terrible 2's but he in fact was an angel. And now that the 2's have hit Greyson, Preston practically glows. But it was a good birthday. Elmo hosted the party at The Ark.

Shirt by Mabin and Allie.

Nana and Bimmo were there.

This is 2.

Also this summer I FINALLY received my baby girl!

Okay...she isn't technically mine. My niece Harper Grace was born in July. She is precious.

And her Cousin's love her. And promise to take good care of her.

And then Tony and I refocused on us....again. Did I mention we had a selfish year?

My husband came home from work one day with tickets to Las Vegas. Just us. It was great. We ate good food and sat in the sun. Yep that is it. Eating and sunning.

Seriously...that is all we did.

Amazing.

Then back to reality. Fall hit.

Winter and Spring 2012

In February we went to visit Tony's Dad and Step-Mom in Colorado. It was cold and had lots of snow. The boys loved it! Flying with 2 kids was not fun and we haven't done that since then. Don't plan to if we can help it.

Preston (4) and Greyson (1)

Spring was much busier with work and kids. We Played Blastball, had 2 girls graduate from High School (Our neice and little sister), and my favorite, The Texas Bluebonnets. Drool.

Yes....it is 2013 and my first post in a long, long time.

The Moore's have been busy. Yes, we have been busy for an entire year. No judgement please.

In the past year we have gone on vacations, one to Colorado, one to Costa Rica, and then to Las Vegas. Much to my oldest sons dismay....he has only been to Colorado. We also celebrated some birthdays and really focused on family. We have spent more time with extended family this year than we ever have.

Tony and I needed this year. Really we need another. But I focused on him. He focused on me. (Maybe not as much as I would like but he did none the less)  We started having weekly date nights and time without TV (although I am up to date on all the Housewives....no need to worry). We needed this. I am not sure we knew how much we needed this.

When I logged in today I had 2 unfinished posts that I just could not send out at the time and still didn't today. I don't regret that. They were not warm and fuzzy. So I am happy I took some time to refocus and get back in touch with my reality. My boys. All 3 Moore Men.

So the seasons are to come!

This picture doesn't really "go" here but I had to share. My Preston is kind and smart....he made this just for me.

January 2012...and I have more wrinkles than 2011 already

I have noticed that I am getting wrinkles on my face. I feel as though I am too young but never the less it is happening. It has been bothering me so I bought anti-wrinkle cream and I am obsessively using it. No change yet but I started looking at my life and I realized why I am getting wrinkles. I live with 3 boys and I teach approximately 70 boys. They are the cause of my wrinkles. I thought I would compile a list of things I can have happen or I will say on an average day.

1. Why is the baby on the table?
2. Greyson we don't climb in the toilet.
3. Preston, get your hand out of your pants.
4. Don't punch the baby in the head
5. Don't tease your son...
6. Tony, get your hand out of your pants
7. No I will not call your mom and tell her you acted "alright" today.
8. Why is there an empty jello container under my dresser....with a spoon?
9. No I will not change your grade becasue you are a "Beast"
10. How is it possible to have dirt running down your face while drinking water?
11. Do not cut holes in your uniform with the classroom scissors
12. Preston, do not cut holes in your shirt with your teachers scissors.
13. Preston, get your hands out of your pants.
14. No I will not give you a good grade so you can go hang with your homies.
15. Why is the baby naked?
16. It is 2AM why am I still pulling matchbox cars out of my bed?
17. Why are there crumbs in my bed?
18. How long has that sippy been there?
19. All boys, get your hands out of your pants.
20. Pull up your pants.
21. What is that smell?
22. No I do not believe that your bruise came from you falling and hitting your neck.
23. Don't put food in your brothers hair.
24. I don't care what your other teachers let you do....you cannot play dominos in my room.
25. Please take your hands out of your pants and go wash them right now.

Now I understand why God gave us botox.....I could have made this list longer.

Halloween is for the boys....

We had a wonderful Halloween! The boys were both excited and did great! Preston decided we would have a Toy Story themed Halloween this year. He would be Buzz, Greyson Woody, I would be Jesse, and Daddy would be Mr. Potato Head. Somehow Daddy got out of that and if you ask Preston what his Daddy actually was for Halloween Preston responds "Daddy was awesome for Halloween!". Why didn't I think of that??? Well it was still fun!

Preston was all about Trick or Treating! We knew he would be. He talked about it for weeks and even practiced before we left. Greyson was the shocker, he LOVED trick or treating and he turned out to be the star of the neighborhood. People said, "Oh there is that Woody!". So cute! He walked most of the way, which was about 4-5 blocks, and he went up to the houses and grunted for candy. If he approved of that particular candy he just sat right down and ate it on the sidewalk. He may have been on a little sugar high at bedtime because we could hear him hitting the wall for a good hour after putting him down.

We did lots of fun Fall activities over the weekend. We went to the Fall Festival at the boys school and the Pumpkin Patch. We even carved pumpkins! I never loved this time of year before but I am really starting to see the fun of Fall!

32 ain't 22.....

At 22 a little vomit on my clothes/purse/hair was nothing but a sign of a good time or at least the old college try at one...at 32 it is a totally different thing.

At 22 I was attending college, making mediocre grades, and having a GREAT time. I had everything that defined being young going for me. No responsibility, no real job, and I had a great social life! I believe I ripped my leather pants (no comments please) when I fell off a police officers bike in Bricktown. It was also at 22 that I was told by my Dad that people who are in college for as long as I had been call themselves "doctor" not "teacher". Whatever. I would not change a thing! 22 ROCKED!

Today on my 32 birthday things are much, much different. I had to leave work to pick up my adorable Preston because he had a fever. I took him to the doctor and she diagnosed him with the one illness that pisses me (and all moms) off. A virus. Come on! Give me some drugs! I need to go to work! Well as soon as we walk in the door he puked all over me. I cleaned him all up and with puke still all over me he says "I love you Mommy". Awesome. Now I feel guilty for all the horrible thoughts I am thinking about you. Thanks Preston.

Past all the bitterness (and the smell) I love my boys and if they are ill I will sit right beside them until they feel better. But being puked on without a DJ, a beer, and poor decision making skills will remind you that 32 ain't 22.....Oh how things change.

* I will add I did not steal the previously mentioned bike that belongs to OKCPD. He totally said I could ride it. :)
